[UPDATE Below] [UPDATE I :: We Can’t Afford War] [UPDATE II]
War on the Little People
When you’ve lost you job because of the Banks, Wall Street, Obama economy fix and you can’t collect any unemployment benefits and end up homeless and hungry look to your friends, relatives and neighbors that are Republican.
Senate Republicans have blocked another effort to extend unemployment benefits to millions of jobless workers. Emergency jobless benefits, which provide up to ninety-nine weeks of income support, expired June 2. More than 1.2 million people have already had their checks cut off, but that total is expected soon to rise to two million people.
This is from FireDogLake:
These Republicans can spend trillions of borrowed dollars on made-up wars, but can’t do anything for the Americans forced to pay for their crass beliefs and looting. [Source]
[UPDATE :: Friday, June 25, 2010]
War on the little people started when? In the process of finding this picture I came across this blog article on Big Dan’s Big Blog posted March 2, 2010, that I think is still appropriate today.
[UPDATE II :: Tuesday, July 20, 2010]
FINALLY! Senate Democrats set to leap hurdle on extending jobless benefits
Democrats are expected to overcome Republican opposition to the package of new aid for unemployed Americans.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports today: Report: “U.S., Israeli warships cross Suez Canal toward Red Sea” – “Egypt opposition angered at government for allowing the fleet of more than 12 ships to cross Egyptian manned waterway, Al-Quds Al-Arabi (an independent pan-Arab daily newspaper published in London since 1989) reports.”
According to the report, thousands of Egyptian soldiers were deployed along the Suez Canal guarding the ships’ passage, which included a U.S. aircraft carrier.
Egyptian opposition members have criticized the government for cooperating with the U.S. and Israeli forces and allowing the ships’ passage through Egyptian territorial waters.
According to eyewitnesses, the U.S. battleships were the largest to have crossed the Canal in many years, Al-Quds reported.
As the US and Israel move to further threaten Iran, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday that US intelligence has learned that Iran has the capability to attack Europe with hundreds of missiles. The Jerusalem Post reports today that: Iran: “Our missiles are for defense”
Official:US claims we can rain missiles down on Europe “deception.”
The Jerusalem Post also reports today: “Iran: Sanctions reflect double standard” —“Teheran calls for investigation of Israeli nukes.”
So, what does the future hold for these might empires? How about a lesson from the past? The following commentary by someone that’s worked a lifetime in peace and conflict resolution spoke about the future of America in this world starting in Afghanistan:
I think it will end, by and large, the same way as Vietnam. That means United States becoming irrelevant. ****
And to quote one important exchange of words in that remark, one of the last commanders in Vietnam on the American side said to the top person in North Vietnam, “You were never able to beat us in any open battle.” And the North Vietnamese response was “Correct, but it is irrelevant.” You can be a superpower as much as you want. You’re up against a force, incidentally, which has enormous amounts of world support. That simply is superior.
It’s called the “silent treatment.”
[UPDATE :: Tuesday, June 22, 2010]
The warmongers just keep pushing and pushing. Our beneficent and benevolent government representatives take the lead as they enforce the corrupt ruling elite’s longterm objectives. Here’s the update: Congress unveils hard-hitting Iran sanctions bill.
What I’ve learned the 6 decades is that if you want peace then you must first be peaceable. Living in a constant state of self-defense is the same as living in a constant state of war. Israel’s history from the beginning is war. War for the singular purpose of getting all nation states to agree with them, the Zionist Jew, that they have the legitimate right to exist. Whereas everyone that refuses to yield to them does not. If the Jews want recognition as a prerequisite, the they can recognize the Palestinians legitimate right to exist with the same rights and duties and Israel claims. Israel treats the Palestinian people, primarily, as illegitimate, sewer-scum dogs (bastards and bitches) then embargoes them like a legitimate state. The land the Jews occupy belongs to another people. It’s time those people laid claim to that land and enforce their rightful, legal ownership – start acting like the legitimate people they are.
It is also about time the Jews recognize this reality and do what they can to seek peace with these people and stop using the Hamas and Hezbollah as excuses to continue trying to justify their criminal existence. That is while they still can.
The latest from Israel is consistent with their war face. Here’s the latest from Haaretz:
“Lebanon aid ship Miriam to set sail to Gaza Sunday; Israel’s UN ambassador says ships linked to Hezbollah, Israel reserves the right to defend itself.”
Why is it that ONLY Israel has “the right to defend itself”? What makes them so special?
Just in from The Jerusalem Post:
By JPOST.COM STAFF
“Israel tells the UN Lebanese flotilla will not be allowed into Gaza.”
Just posted – Israel’s whores fall right in line:
By HERB KEINON
“Israel approves of UK’s move.” The article concludes:
“One Israeli Foreign Ministry official said that statements such as these were significant because they make it clear that the governments that issue the advisories view the attempt to break the blockade as negative, and hint that those who insist on taking part in the flotillas should not later come to their home governments looking for support.”
Here is where the Jews demeaning, judgmental attitude blinds them. People that participate in these flotillas are doing so exactly BECAUSE their governments DO NOT support them. Without a government to fight the Jews don’t know what to do. So they look for terrorists out of terrorist eyes.
“Unlike this president, John Kennedy was an ironist who never fell for his own mystique.”
Mr. Ajami concludes:
It is true to this history that countless voices on the left now want Obama to be Obama. The economic stimulus, the true believers say, had not gone astray, it only needed to be larger; the popular revolt against ObamaCare would subside if and when a new system was put in place.
There had been that magical moment—the campaign of 2008—and the true believers want to return to it. But reality is merciless. The spell is broken.
Kind of sounds like he was describing the False Messiah, that is if the “False Messiah” was a man. Does Obama’s tenure to date meet the specified lifetime for the “False One” BEFORE Jesus exposes him?
Commentary from an objective Israeli perspective is always interesting. Their ‘objective’ in the very beginning has never changed. Only how they hoped to achieve that objective. The Jews and for that matter their American benefactors will never recognize the legitimacy of the Palestinian people and their thousands of years claim to all of that land. Anyone that knows anything about Christianity should realize Jesus Christ revoked God’s promise to Abraham’s seed over two thousand years ago. The quality, character and value of the Jew as manifest by their nation-state Israel, is solid, lawful proof of that truth and reality.
Conclusion: A two-state solution is someone’s wild dream.
John McCain: Mainstream Republican and Chuck Schumer: Mainstream Democrat — Put them in a bag, shake them up and they come out looking exactly the same.
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t write about this quite like Glenn Greenwald does. So, here it is. Make’s you wonder when President Obama is going to bomb Iran.
by Glenn Greenwald – Salon.com
John McCain has a new article in The New Republic — which is exactly where it should be — calling for regime change in Iran. The whole article contains one paragraph after the next of the favorite pastime of America’s political and media class: self-righteously condemning other nations for what we ourselves do (at least) as much. Of all McCain’s paragraphs, this is probably my favorite (h/t sandbun):
Is it any wonder that this is the same regime that spends its people’s precious resources not on roads, or schools, or hospitals, or jobs that benefit all Iranians — but on funding violent groups of foreign extremists who murder the innocent?
As the American war in Afghanistan enters its ninth full year and our occupation of Iraq its seventh, and as we continue to find all new ways to kill innocent civilians in various countries around the world, and as we continue to transfer billions of dollars every year to Israel and the Egyptian dictatorship — all while thinking about how to slash Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and thus erode the weak safety net even further, while confronting collapsing domestic infrastructure, rampant unemployment, and massive teacher lay-offs and even grade elimination for American children — is there any other country you can think of, besides Iran, which “spends its people’s precious resources not on roads, or schools, or hospitals, or jobs that benefit all [citizens]” but rather on wars and support for foreign groups which kill “the innocent”? And over the last decade, what was the position of John McCain and his party on whether the “people’s precious resources” should be spent (a) on “roads, or schools, or hospitals, or jobs that benefit all” (see here) or (b) wars that kill the innocent?
And then there’s this:
We — the government and the people of the United States — need to stand up for the Iranian people. We need to make their goals our goals, their interests our interests, their work our work.
Oh, yes — John McCain is so deeply concerned about the welfare of The Iranian People. He just adores them. That’s why his Siamese twin, Joe Lieberman, advocates that we bomb their country, while McCain merrilly sings songs about doing so. The best way to show how noble and profoundly caring you are about other people is to bomb their country; they love that and it’s really, really good for them. One other thing about the Iranians that McCain wants to note:
And is it any wonder that this Iranian regime has been, and will always be, uncompromising in its pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability . . . .
Those murderous monsters! What kind of evil fanatics would want a nuclear weapons capability? In the interview I just did with The Atlantic, I was asked: “If you could correct one mis-impression among Americans that is exacerbated by media, what would it be?” I replied: “our media’s refusal to report that we ourselves frequently do exactly that which we like to believe only the Bad, Tyrannical countries do.” Thank you to John McCain — and his like-minded friends at The New Republic — for providing such a classic illustration.
Is that the face of insanity? Mighty scary, if you ask me. These arrogant, simple-minded, Dark Age Barbarians are finally putting the truth out. What do they have to worry about? They think their in control. Ever since President Obama hupped to their little snare drum cadence, why would they worry about letting out the truth? Classic example of another corrupt would-be elite: Chuck Schumer: Mainstream Democrat – by Glenn Greenwald.
The hypocrisy of these corrupt elites is mind-boggling. The Jews whine about the Palestinians rejection of their right to take their land so as to become a legitimate nation-state in this world, but refuse to recognize that they took the Palestinians land to do so. The Jews that survived Hitler learned well.
- Daniel Ellsberg, true political hero, on Barack Obama’s Big GAP: http://is.gd/cKCqE
BIG GAP — Big difference between what is said and what is done. America is all about, “Say one thing – do another. Deny what the said and lie about what they did.”
By now the drumbeat of what Obama says versus what Obama does is growing louder and louder. As the question: What do you think about Barack Obama and his presidency and inevitably you will hear the words, “very disappointing.” The list of examples I could offer runs the gamut. What people thought they were getting when they voted for Obama is decidedly NOT what they got. Here is a classic example of the deviant, deceptive, double-talk, disingenuous outright lies that permeates everything.
Here Glenn poses the question regarding Obama’s and his “White House’s petulant, scornful behavior and what it reflects about its actual agenda.”
Democracy works in that the people get what they want, even when they have to manipulate the voting. Most Americans, as reflected by their choice this past presidential election, learned that what they were offered the last 30 to 40 years as reflected in the Bush/Cheney era took America into the Dark Ages, seriously compromising everything held dear and valuable.
Apparently Arkansas deserves a Blanche Lincoln. Is this the future of California, Meg Whitman (Republican)?
“Whitman launches first general election ad” – Whitman is NO politician? She’s going to take back Sacramento from what? Politicians like her?
Another classic example is this one: “Boehner: Government–i.e. Taxpayers–Should Help Pay For Oil Spill” – Pay attention the the words, i.e., “cost of the cleanup.” There are way more costs associated with the Gulf oil blowout the just the “cleanup.” Once President Obama began to say he was ultimately responsible and take control, he committed the American people to pay the bill – one way or another.
